Talking Need a quieter exhaust for DD - Powerloop or Remus or Eisenmann Sport

I'm deciding on my can-only mod for sound for my MR. Usually 2k~4K rpm around town.

Louder -> quieter : Eisenmann Sport > Powerloop > Remus
Drone: E Sport > P loop > Remus
Look: Ploop > E Sport > Remus

Is Remus the quietest and E Sport most drone and Ploop kinda in between?

Remus is also the cheapest, I believe.

Opinions and comments welcome ...

Arqray - David at EAS is the person to contact. I have been struggling with trying to get an accurate video/audio representation of them with just terrible luck.

Sounds like what you want is also what I wanted, and I am very happy with the Arqray cans. I get no drone - well maybe the very slightest, slightest drone only at about 1850 RPM - it's very, very subtle and restricted to that specific tight RPM range, and also only while under pretty good throttle, which doesn't happen much in that RPM range anyway. (soap box - I despise drone, and I am quite happy with the Arqray system, if that says anything). On the highway under minimal throttle, as if just cruising along, they are about like stock. If you get on the accelerator at highway speed, say 2500 - 3000 rpm, you definitely hear a nice growl as the car pulls.

Nice, slightly deeper throaty sound as compared to stock, opens up pretty good under WOT and gets louder, but is not totally obnoxious either. For around town driving, it is more noticable that stock, but not a dramatic attention getter either. I look at it as the kind of thing where a fellow car enthusiast would notice it, but you're not going to be getting everyone around saying "What is that !/?"

Also, I don't think you can beat the look, build quality or fit. The cans are tucked up nicely but can still be slightly seen which I am ok with since they look so good, the rolled tips look great, and they literally bolted right in with absolutely minimal adjustment, and the tips ended up perfectly centered in the cut-outs in the rear fascia. At EAS's website, the listing for the Arqray can has pics of my car for fit and finish.

If I were you, I'd definitely give them a consideration. I've researched this ad nauseum and for what is available, I don't think I could find anything better. Remus sounds like it might be quieter but I can't believe by much. I guess Remus could be between the Arqray and stock systems, but I bet they are similar. When I first got them and saw the straight through design, everyone said "Oh yeah, those are going to be loud" and really, they are not. I guess it is perhaps a testament to the Arqray engineers/designers.

Anyway, just my 2 cents...(p.s., if you do contact David, please tell him I sent you - I'm kind of on his shit list because I can't get any good videos for him....it's not for not trying though!)

I think you'll be happy with the REMUS sport. At idle/cruising, it is barely noticeable from stock. But at WOT, you'll hear a nice growl and throaty exhaust note...also..zero drone.

Let me know if you need help with a price

Does Arqray or Remus give more Rasp? I want something that is almost as quiet at stock, gives me more rasp and has no drone

Sounds like you want an E46 M3 exhaust for your Z4M. I definitely noticed less of a "rasp" in the Z4M compared to the M3, but I really don't know what it is in the different systems that makes the difference. I suspect it's the single exhaust can vs the dual in our Z4Ms, but I don't really know.

I haven't heard a Remus system. I think that the ARqray system may have a little during WOT as it winds up through the rpms. but I was looking to stay away from raspiness, so I'm glad there isn't much if any with the Arqray cans....

I have a P-Loop with secondary cat delete and stock X-pipe & headers. It sounds really nice and deep with no drone, and when you punch it it really sounds great without being super loud.

One of the consideration is looks. The tip of Remus Sport, in comparison with others mentioned, don't look that beefy.

Has anyone tried to put other tips on Remus?

I like how precise you described the tone of Argray and it does look really good. I'm pretty torn now, thanks to you , and the most difficult part on choosing an exhaust setup is to be able to hear it 1st hand. I know it's remotely accurate but would you be willing to record your Argray again (even just remotely good) and uploaded to Youtube? David will love you again and we can all hear it

Or anyone has Remus or Argray near me? I'll buy lunch...

Yeah, yeah, I'm working on it.....

Seriously though, the thing I haven't tried yet is the Droid X - I think I'll be able to get pretty good clips with it since it can record in 780p and has descent microphones too. We'll see. Today is rainy and I have a bunch of inside stuff I am working on anyway. We'll give it the college try this weekend.
