How often should I drain the drains?

You don't drain the drains, just keep them clear of debris...

Depends on where you park. If it is normally garaged, then I would do a yearly cleaning/flushing to get the gunk out.

If it is parked outside, twice yearly..

I would not attempt to drill out the lower hole. The exit hole is larger than the pipe coming down to it.

In the meantime it's no longer necessary to need some tools to unplug the drains.

Just lay beside your car and put your arm through the 4-corner-hole in the underbody right in front of the rear wheel.

Feel the rubber and pull it out with the plastic-ring.

In Germany we have many broken soft-top-engines and we created this support-site (in German):

Hi, I seem to be unable to see the pictures in the tabs below the writing. I have a drainage problem in my Z4 soft top hood compartments. I can read the text that has been given from *OP* GV from Belgium. However cannot see the pictures in the tabs below. Can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong. Thanks. Sothern
