Difference between ECU tuning software and SC software?

I just purchased ESS vt1-445
but... I heard that there is difference between
ECU tuning software and SC software...
(like hp gain or rpm.. etc)
Can anyone answer my question??

Doesn't the cost of the supercharger include the software flash?

^ it does. And if you had an ess tune before hand that should come off the price of the s/c kit as well.

no... the software is different.
If you purchase ecu tune for $800 and then you get the
supercharger later, you will get $400 back.
you have to send your dme again because it is different tune..
and the software price is included in vt1-445
I just want to know the differences between these two..

Different parameters, ones set up for na and the others re calibrated for boost.
Boost will mean the engine acts different at different rpms and gets a ton more air flow - so fuel, timing ect will be different.

I believe the SC software is alphaN where as the NA software is like stock and uses the MAF. I am hoping this is the case because I would really love to change my car over to alphaN like the M3 CSL, e92 M3, E60 M5. Then I can run the CSL intake with out the MAF. I think I may just have to wait till I decide to go 3.4 and then fly the ESS software tuner out here to NJ to tune the car
