I agree about using less meth, if the tune won't adjust. Its easy to dilute the 50/50 meth water to 25/75 meth water

tom, thought you may find this interesting ;-)

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=589573

water/meth tuning gave pretty much 40rwhp through the powerband, Vish also tweaked the AFRs alittle, im wondering if they could do alittle sumet sumet for us ;-) a tweak on our AFRs is all we need just like the g-power they used, i can definatly see the +'s for meth/'water, but surely their must be -'s too?? pleasure ALWAYS = alittle pain :-) take a good read, very interesting.

Let me know what type and sizes of clamps you order...I haven't had a chance to. Other stuff is in progress, though; the rear view mirror is off for shipping tomorrow for the gauges

bought 10 of these beasts. Installed 2 on the 45* elbow that leaked before, and added 2 more to the coupler at the mid-intercooler level (doubled up by leaving the original ones on too since there was lots of room)

I'll install others later. Lets see if I fixed the leak. It seems like it would hold boost at 5psi in 3rd gear, but as the RPMs went up, the boost wasn't going up on my run today

it seems like these clamps are more reliable and most likely fixed my issues, and I only installed 4 of them in the places where I suspected. I'm also learning my shift points better, and can knock off clean 8000rpm shifts without over-revving and the boost gauge spiking. So 8psi in second gear, and found room to hit 8psi on top of 3rd gear too.

Did you happen to measure the torque you tightened them down to? This is an exciting development and I hope ESS takes note that the clamps they include with their kits are leaking even when fully tightened down and not at all suspicious-looking, causing substantial diagnosis and resolution headaches for the owners...

no torque measurements... sorry. Its also VERY easy to torque them so high that a pipe might bend or crack so be very careful. Once it was on, I did a few turns, and then tried to jiggle it with my hand and see if its pressing into the silicone yet. Once I couldn't move it with my hand, I tightened it a few more good turns

Hard to blame ESS without knowing exactly how many kits are not leaking vs leaking and wheather they used the same clamps for everyone

from the pis ive seen from iphone, i have different clips from him, mine were much more substantial BUT imo still need upgrading, luckily im making and holding good boost so wont be swapping mine out until i do work on the motor....

they're et40, which will allow me to fine tune the rear fitment with lightweight spacers. I wish the rears were a bit wider, but they're wide enough for a GOOD 275mm rear, and I could NOT pass up on the smoking deal. 17-18lbs, fuck yeah thats unbeatable. Potenza RE-11 or ADVAN Neova AD08 tires.

I'm not bothered at all by the cosmetics, since I probably won't run them until Spring anyway. until then I'll figure out which color matches my sepang bronze best.

Surprisingly, I have terrible traction in 1st gear with the TC off. As you saw by the video, even launching at 2000rpm I'm terrible out of the hole; but probably 80-90% traction in second gear and up when the tires are warm.

In a month I'll be on winter tires and taking it easy (yeah right), while I find a seller for my Miro 111s to fund my new tires

meth kit's been on for a day and a morning. I burned through the gallon of mixture. So much for having it last a month. hahahahaha.

Feels noticeably quicker over 4000rpm, when it kicks in. Temps have been fairly low around here though, but it felt just as fast on the cool morning as it did on the warmer afternoon, and that was the goal with this kit.

Too bad the consumables will be too expensive to use it every day... I'll save it for when I need extra power or when its hot outside

Doesn't feel like its dropping timing up high, like with fr8dog's situation, but butt dyno's lie. I'll hit the dyno in 2 weeks or so

currently the controller is inside the ecu box, so I dont have quick access to it, but I'll run a toggle switch to the interior to turn it on/off. Unfortunately my friend at Fabspeed didn't install it right after the intercooler, its closer to the middle of the pipe on the bottom, but I think its still fine with the small nozzle. The bung is welded on

Well im back, friends finally layed to Rest and ive remembered just how dangerous cars are in the wrong hands :-( RIP buddy....

right now back to my P and J, havent seen it for a while as ive been away on business, work is notoriously hectic for me coming upto xmas..... Anyhow, my modded throttle bodies are in....... any difference?? honestly?? i cant feel any, the car picks up alittle better but feels as fast as it always did, boost is unchanged @ 8psi @ 7950 rpms........

i think the best thing i can do for performance on this car now is to drop as much weight as possible, ive already done alot to kill a good chunk of weight..... I cant get rid of my CSLs, they are for me an integral part of my build and are a very good weight and also are very strong.....if i could get a Jap 18" wheel with PROPER offsets for the z4m id be all over it, i can find one however, i also need clearance for my giant AP BBK.

so i Re the cams, i decided to leave the motor bone stock, i think they key now is to drop weight, so the seats are definatly going to be swapped out, im watching scotts thread with interest, Also im hoping to get some KW clubsports in this winter, i really cant wait to take the car out on one of those winter days where the suns blasting but its -10!!!

so next mods are, seats, kw clubsports, aero side skirts, may try risking the carbon hood again but everyone ive spoke to gets a damaged one :-(

After seeing an m3 with vt2-550..... all i can say is ESS NEED to release this for the z4///M, that big vortech needs to be worked alittle more, i think the 550kit gets us the Tq we deserve really.

this vt2-550 made 480rwhp WITH US HEADERS, this is a 495 rwhp car all day long with only 1.5ish psi more than us!!! watch the car roast the tyres in the first 3 gears!!! Fucking awesome!!

I think its time you/scott got these things to the track and got them blowers working, these car are soooo much fun with free reign!!! This is old footage but im on trackday numero 7 now with vt2-500 alone.... vt2 has had my APs Glowing red!!! lol All in all i still cant see another car this side of a 2012 GTR id rather own.....

I've been on my winter wheels/tires since thursday since I gashed my rear tire on the summer set. So I've been pussyfooting it so I don't destroy the Blizzaks in 80* weather.

The Volks should come in by Friday, and I'd like to put 265s all around on it, with -3* camber up front.

I totally agree on weight savings, it'll really make the car FEEL quicker 1000-4000rpm. I'd like to do battery next, and then save up for seats

Beedub, didn't you also do exhaust mods? Removing the section one cats? Also: whats your traction like in 1st gear on 265mm PSS tires?

i did battery a while ago..... Pain in the ass as i cant leave the car for more than 3 days!!! lol its constantly on trickle charge....... The projected exhaust mods were coming to mad prices, when i saw the DKF system with all my prayers answered i asked my tuner to leave my system alone, ill order a DKF system with 100 cell cats, Xpipe, race rear section, that wiill save a nice chunk of weight also!!! Just waiting to see if we throw CELs, the s54 seems sensitive to this.....The DKF system seems to be very high quality and is BY FAR the best quality and most complete option for the z4m imo.... i love the clamping on that system.

ess VT2-550 for the z4m please................with the ess fuel system, bigger cooler and injectors and 100kg off the car..... yesss pleasssseee!!!

Also i think ill be doing a catch can install soon, i brought one but couldnt mount it anywhere so i need to get one made..... however the s54 seems to have minimal crank case breathing, their is only a gentle coating of oil in the boost pipe work, a very small "spray" if that, it does however smell lovely being breathed out the hot S/C unit!! lol!!

AFRs are a beautyful 11.4 @ 8000rpm, and on idle still a Perfect 14.5, bang on tuning...... The Bored throttle bodies have not effected anything really.... like i say maybe alittle more Tq.... Car needs to be dyno'd now.....

holy shit -3 camber...... that will resist understeer well ;-) i got a massive difference from -2.5..... and 235 fronts.......

so Tom, how do you feel about your ess car now yove had some time with her??? unfortunatly it seems were building serious money pits, im obsessed with spending on the car but im now BROKE!!! lol..... i really need to spend some time and money on my house!!!!

-2.5 camber up front might be enough. I flog it on the street, but I don't need anything crazy. I just want to fit 265s up there for some mega grip. I'm planning to at least do an autocross before the season ends

Other than the mysterious 500rpm fluctuations on idle which I'm still looking to fix, I love this kit. To judge this kit fairly, I'll break it down like this
