Excited about possibly joining the Z club!

Hey guys! Im from Russia. But currently Study and live in NC, US. Im a big BMW guy. Curretly own a E63 M6 SMG and an E53 X5 (which i will never sell). :driving:

Recently i have began selling my M6. Going to use the money for other business questions. But im going to "downgrade" to a slightly cheaper car for here. Still havent sold the M6 but ive already been looking for cars, for some reason my heart is telling me Z4...

I really want a red interior and a manual. But that seems to be a huge challange. All the cars i like end up being Auto or smg. I found a 2006 3.0si black on red interior on manual, M sport seats, Nav..... 18k buuuut...... its a "lein" title, i feel iffy. Its on the BMW CCA classifieds.
I plan on spending around $15k but preferably under that. But it all depends on the car.
I kak minimum want a 3.0. 3.0si would be better. Or if i find a cheap enough ///M ill be very happy. Just no grey or beige interiors. And the Roadster, Dont want a coupe.

Questions...

How much will i regret not getting an M??
I know the Z3M is called an M roadster.. does that still apply to the Z4???
How much will i regret not getting a 3.0si over a 3.0?
Besides BHP, what are the differences between 3.0i and 3.0si?
Which models does a Limited Slip Diff come one? Just the M?? i enjoy giving angle. :driving:
Anyone want my M6?
How will a chrome blue wrap look on a Z4?))

Thanks!!

Welcome. I'm in NC as well, so be sure to touch bases when you get your Z4 "M"aybe.

M or not, I think the Z is a great car. I had a 2004 3.0i sport for a year, and had a ton of fun in that thing. 6mt, 200 or so lbs lighter than the M, it felt really nimble and you could push it without getting into felony territory.

The M really is special though. I treated the 3.0i like a pair of old boots, while the M gets treated like a member of the family. I'm sure you know the feeling from your M6.

Good choice on the roadster. Just got back from picking up dinner for the wife, top down drive by Levi's Stadium... It's love

You really have to drive all the versions to know what will suit you. The Z4M is also called the M Roadster - like the Z3M. I wouldn't be concerned about a "lien" title. That just means the current owner still has a loan on the car. You pay them, they pay the bank and the bank sends you the title.

I sold a car once that still had a lien on it. The new owner wrote the payoff check to the lienholder with a notarized letter from me. The letter instructed them to send the title to the new owner. We also had executed a notarized vehicle power of attorney so that the new owner could get a new title in their name.

Of course if you will have a lien on it, your bank will take care of all of this.

Like txs2000 says, let either party's bank handle it. It can be done a few different ways depending on the circumstances.

I saw the black with red M seats you are talking about on the forums and it looks good! The millage looks pretty decent for the price ask. I have never driving a 3.0 si but I hear it delivers pretty decent. But from my experience M roaster is just something else. S54 engine is awesome and if you treat it with respect it will deliver pretty good.

Is this true?? its better to get the pre facelift 2003-2005 3.0 than the new engine 3.0??

There is less power...

Not counting the si model?

The 03-05 3.0 is a completely different motor than the 06-08 3.0i/si(which is the same engine in two different states of tune). 03-05 buy a 3.0. 06-08 buy a 3.0si(or M). As far as the seller taking the money and running. Nope- do the sale at the bank holding the lien. You pay the bank and the bank gives the owner their share then the bank mails you the title(or your bank if you are getting a loan). No risk to you at all.

Plenty of tunes out there for no SI cars to my understanding. Might mean you have to get your hands dirty if you're into that sort of thing.
