Perfromance clutch Z4 2.5i

Hi all,

Does anyone know of any performance clutchs for the 5speed 2.5i? I need one that will handle 300hp. It looks like all of the light weight flywheels and clutch setups are not compatible with Z4's made after october 2003 for some weird reason mine was manufactured in 2004 so i just missed out. Any setup that is street friendly will be perfect for me, i dont care if it is a single mass or dual mass setup just as long as it works

What's your max torque?

I'd go with organic for a centrifugal supercharger, and Kevlar for a twin screw. Organic usually provides better feel and drivability, and it doesn't ruin if it's overheated. Kevlar has more capacity.

I'm running a Bimmerworld "Stage 1" kit that includes a JB Racing lightweight flywheel and Clutchmasters organic sprung-hub clutch on a centrifugally supercharged 3.0i with 8.5 psi of boost. Works perfectly.

A kevlar clutch is way overkill. I drove around for 5 years with way more power/torque, and the stock clutch held out fine. I swapped it for a Sachs race engineering clutch because I found a new one on ebay for $300 that I just couldn't pass on. When I swapped the clutch (90k miles, 30k supercharged at 340lbf+/380hp) it still wasnt worn to the point that replacement was really necessary.
The only advice I can give you is that a stock self adjusting bmw clutch is less precise in feedback on the grab point than a non self adjusting clutch. I certainly prefer the latter for a sportscar. Thats worth the upgrade alone imho.

That manufacture date is important because bmw went from 9 spline to 22 spline on their 5 speeds back then.
I'm not 100% sure but I think you can fit any 22 spline e46 clutch. Maybe you have to fit a new flywheel, but I'm not sure of that.
Even a stock e46 330i clutch would be an upgrade as you go from 228mm to 240mm.

Guess i should update, turns out my car is a 10/2003 build so i can use the older clutches! Woo hoo, thanks everyone for your help. (Previous owner told me it was a 2004 but lucky it isnt haha)
