Will this wheel fit on my car?

I'm considering buying this wheel from our esteemed colleague on this forum to replace my steering wheel, which has some scratches on the silver trim:

http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=353705

But this wheel comes from a 2007 Z4 3.0si without paddle shifters. My car is a 2006 Z4 3.0si WITH paddle shifters.

Will the wheel fit on my car without modification, and also accommodate my paddle shifters?

Thanks!!!!

Don't waiste your money on that wheel. The ///M wheel is a MUCH better option. Search this forum and others for information.

But here's the thing!

Yes, I like the thicker wheel of the M - but I also like the stock look of the silver trims. I personally don't like the idea of having M car symbols on a non M car. Plus, it would look inconsistent to my eye to have an all black M wheel on a car with so much silver trim elsewhere throughout the cockpit (door handles, dash and center console).

I guess I'm just proud of my 3.0si as she is!

Cheers!!

Hi Huzz,

Tend to agree with wildag, but if that isn't your thing then just replace your trim from the stealers (probably expensive) or fleabay (cheaper).

Cheers mate

I've had a chat with the nearest BMW dealer's service guy. He cautions that a straight swap of the wheel may result in loss of some of the functionality and features accessed through the multi-function switches. And that could occur even with re-programming.

So I think I'll stick with a trim swap this time. But the wheel I'm looking at is going for less than the price of trim by itself. And, as the seller swears its pristine, I'll also get a spare wheel.

To play devil's advocate - how much would a nice M wheel cost?
