2006 E85 roof motor help!

Hi Guys,
I need some help, my hydraulic roof motor has bitten the dust and the BMW dealer has quoted me $4,900 AUS to repair! Insane.

Could someone advise the part number or a recommended online retailer I could order one for?

Also if anyone has a thread or advice on how to DIY that would be brilliant.

thanks

Miguel

If you don't find the information here, you probably don't need it. At the very least its a good start.

Try the search function, since our cars have been discontinued for over 4 years, almost everything has been discussed.

See shipkillers excellent DIY: How to Remove your Softtop Motor on a Z4.

I just bought a used motor on here for $200 and had my local shop install it for $650. Dealer wanted like $2,000 of course I'm not in Australia so prices are probably higher there.
