So you want the roof plus the hatch? Nothing has been done like that as far as I know. It would require removing the soft top, the trunk, and the side windows, and fabricating a BUNCH of pieces. It'd probably be cheaper to buy a coupe.

Or, you could just buy the Z4 hard top, that fits on the car when the roof is lowered. I think folks use those in the colder months, when top down driving would be undesirable.

i wish someone would make a top for the roadster like the s2000 fastback top, that looks awesome, i will never get a coupe as i just love the dual personality of my roadster, with a hardtop if feels just like the coupe, without it ive got my lovely roadster :-)

I can truly understand your desire for a coupe. However, I cannot see the type of butchery to a roadster that you envision. The sensible thing would be to have both. I agree with Huz-Z. Get a hardtop. Best of both worlds. Sorta.

I think j's racing makes it for s2000. It's not cheap. Neither are the imitations.

Actually they are very cheap. I had the CF Mugen hardtop and used you can get them for under $3000. Same with the Spoon/Mooncraft top. Both can be had for under $5000. Thats the price of a nice rifle. All the parts NOW for the S2000 are very cheap considering you can get into a used 2000-2001 S2000 for under $10000. I know I use to own one...

After owning a roadster I will never ever buy a car with a soft top again. The looks deminish with a soft top and its just a different cheaper feel too it.

Wow! Those are some great pictures of the hardtop for the Z4 roadster. It certainly looks great in those pictures!

I disagree. Coupes and sedans of all make are ubiquitous; fine roadsters like the Z4 or its coupe sister are relatively uncommon and there is nothing "cheap" about a BMW Z4, coupe or roadster.

Obviously, some people just don't understand the joy of going topless.

You gotta try to stop being to sensitive and butt-hurt every time someone remotely uses the word cheap or pathetic to describe certain parts of the Z4. The Z4 might be an expensive car to you and it's a good sports car overall, but it's not exactly a 100% perfect car to ever exisit that has absolutely no flaws.

on a car DESIGNED from the off as a roadster, they are a thing of beauty, im thinking boxster spyder, z4, s2000, all removing the roof does is ADD to the driving experience.......... After being in a z4m with a hardtop in place which looked awesome i was really suprised how "coupe" like it felt, Definatly the best of both worlds imo......

also when i look at cars like that owned by BMWZ :-) i can definatly say the roadster with the hardtop in place and styled properly look just as awesome as the coupe... hell in my eyes even better :-)

I am not "sensitive and butt-hurt" as you say. I just disagree with the comment the other fellow made.

I think our definitions of "cheap" may be different. 5000 or less is lower than i was expecting for one of these roofs, but still not "very cheap." Very cheap to me is like a DIY clutchstop. =D

I agree wholeheartedly. I think I may need to get one of them rear wings. It really adds to the look created by the hardtop. The black wheels look awesome, but I really like my 108's!! Hmmmm... winter/summer tires/wheels? Might be just right for up here in the northwest. However, mine seems to take long naps during the wintertime.
