apex lug kit 75mm or 90mm

hi guys, finally decided to pull the trigger on one of the apex lug conversion kits, but I am at a loss which kit to choose..

I am running 10mm spacers, will the 75mm be long enough? or do I need to go the 90mm?

thx in advance guys.

75mm will work up to 12mm spacer. I was looking at them too, but decided to wait on it.

I would recommend the 90mm so you have flexibility on wheel spacer selection later.

I got mine from Rotiform, I think they had an 85mm size that was a nice option.

I ran 75mm when I still tracked my car. Front stuck out a wee bit but the rears were flush.

This is correct - I have 75 mm studs with 12 mm spacers. Keep in mind the longer studs will stick out further. If you have to run huge spacers, you need different wheels IMHO.

these apex studs... be warned, a guy on m3forums had a a complete set on 1 wheel sheer off on a 2 month old set..... He pm'd me detailed info on what had happened and they basically failed, no impact , not 1 snap but the whole set on 1 wheel, i found this very concerning.

more than happy to dig up the thread......

Unfortunate thing is threads like those are not unusual, and there's never a definitive answer as to why it happened. There are so many variables, many pointing to if the user installed them correctly. With that said, I have used Apex, Bimmerworld and VAC studs. The reason for so many is because I replace them every 2 years. But loctite + proper torque (which is a lot less than one would think) + reasonable replacement intervals and you should be good to go.

solid response as always my friend, i completely agree with you, it is strange that the bolts we replaced never had such issues ???

i have studs too and i think I'm due to replace them. I've done 3 years on them, around 8 track days now. but the failure rate on studs is MUCH higher than the stock bolts we are supposed to upgrading... something isn't quite stacking up for me.
