I have 275's running on the rear and no rubbing. Oh, you also want to size down on the tirewall for the rear.
275/35/18 rear, and 235/40/18 front. I'll be switching to 245's in the front next. My car is a 3.0i. The rear tends to be pretty forgiving I find, but I also have neg 3 degrees of camber back there.

On stock Z4MC wheels, I'm running 245/40/18 on 8 inch front and 265/35/18 on 9 inch rear with no rubbing at all.
Based on other replies looks like you can get away with 225-245 on fronts and 255-265 on rears with stock wheels. I've written several dealers and with different wheels, looks like you could go up to 255/35/18 on fronts with 9 inch wheels and spacers, then 275-285 on rear with 10 inch rim, maybe spacers........ |
