When I set out to buy my next sports car I was looking for looking for unique looks, exclusivity (low production #s), MT, respectable performance and DIY friendly platforms.
The collector potential was not a selling point, but I am warming to the increasing attention and market value. Low mileage examples are already demanding a premium, in a few more years I expect broader attention as well. |

Maybe but there's at least four Z4M roadsters for sale right now up this way that are in close proximity to me that just do not seem to be selling. They've been up for sale all spring just about. And yet similar e46 M3's are gone within the week. Maybe at some point but not sure what's happening right now. There also two coupes now that I think about it as well. Both still up for sale.....

Last October, I traded in my 07 Z4M Coupe to a local BMW dealer in Los Angeles for my current car for 27500 Dollars. The car had 58k miles on it and was my daily driver. I was the only owner and took good care of it but it had some usual dings and scratches. Certainly no garage queen. The car "sat" on the lot for 2 days and was sold per my CA to an "enthusiast" for 32500!! I had seen it being listed on the dealer website for 35000. Funny thing was that at first the used car manager didn't know it was an M and only offered me 15000 for it. Lol.
So I believe that at least in LA, these cars are in demand. |

Don't be fooled. I am drooling over these cars. And owned. The resale is mediocre.
My old International Scout "74" would sell for over 20K today in average condition. The market is fickle. BMW, my passion, do not resell well compared to others in general. |

White with Imola coupe up here been up for sale for some time. E46 M3's disappearing and yet this one is not. I think that Z4M's are a long way off from collectible status.
