Cheap (~$500/set) hankook v12s on tirerack.
Boom - http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....m=535YR9K110XL
Per this thread - http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=974897 - v12s are okayish tire for it's price at the best of times, and it appears they released a newer version of the tire - and older ones are on closeout. For around $500 per set depending on the sizes (I run 245/40 & 275/35 and it was $508) it seems to me to be a screaming deal. Just wanted to give y'all a heads up My experience with these tires: Mine lasted me 7 months, about 12k miles, and 5 track days (given I'm a novice at the track I don't give them too much beating - but on strictly street driving I reckon they would last another 5k at least). After my 4th track day I did get some "chipping" - as described with pics in this thread: http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=871180 Overall, although I'm sure there are better options out there - for the lack of having tried better (read: more expensive and softer & stickier) tires I have no complaints. As to track performance - undoubtedly stickier tires would be more forgiving and MOAR FASTER around the track, but I have so much else to work on (e.g. smoothness of transition between brakes & gas) that a handicap of suboptimal tires doesn't really bother me that much. I have skillz to optimize, and if a cheaper tire will mean I spend two extra days at the track - I'll take it any day |

These are pretty popular as an inexpensive tire for the DD, and you can't beat the price.
I've burned through a couple sets. Experience is about the same as brother i. I think I paid about $600 for a set from America's Tire.

just ordered, thanks.
Got a huge puncture on a runflat that I didn't notice for 2 full days (120 miles later). Picked 2 of these up, getting installed Monday. Car is gonna be in the garage until then.

I was able to get a set for the rear. I have the odd 285/30-19's and was able to get some of the last ones. I certainly don't love them, but DD use is fine. Just don't even THINK about driving them in the rain :-)

Awesome tire at this price.. They are known for a softer sidewall (than most), though, overall one of the best bang-for-your-buck tires.

Im running HR springs on my 3.0si and the front tires grind on the plastic underneath in the wheel well. Never did that with my old Michelin Run Flats, Its so annoying.
any suggestions? can I just take the plastic off?

Same size tires as before/stock tire size? Lowered the car/get an alignment at install?

225/40ZR-18 Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110 XL Rear has no rubbing. It is only the front that rubs. And yes, alignment done previously. There was no rubbing till I switched to this tire.
