Subjective comparison between Michelin Pilot Supersport and Pilot Sport 4 S (its repl

Thought you might find this interesting from the guys from www.tyrereviews.co.uk

www.youtube.com/watch?v=F65rXOlS2f8

He basically says it's an overall improvement in all areas, especially wet grip and the only downside is a small reduction in the on-limit feel of the tyre.

I think I found my next tyres

Unfortunately they're initially focusing on 19 and 20 inch sizes.

when my Conti's are done I may have to give these a try. sounds like best bet all round unless you're looking for a pure track tire, which I'm not.

If you can wait they will eventually release them in 18".

Likewise. I currently have Supersports and am very happy, if these are an improvement they will be amazing.

I reached out to Michelin as I live near their US HQ and they told me that 18-inch versions of these would be available in Jan 2018.

Thanks for the info; Michelin Canada wasn't so forthright.

That's a bummer... I need new summer tires this season and I still have my winter set fitted.

For what it's worth, this is what I did for my 18" requirements this summer...

Front - Pilot Sport 4S - 245/40/18
Rear - Pilot Super Sport - 275/35/18

The only (currently available) 18" PS4S happens to be the size I use for the fronts, and I felt the PSS was close enough to match.

Hey guys guess what? I checked Tire Rack and Michelin Canada's website yesterday and it looks like the Pilot 4 S is now available on the Z4 M roadster on the stock tire size! Didn't check for the coupe and I'm not sure if the tire size is the same but check it out!

My Z4 M still has the original factory rubber on it which I shredded on the track last year. I deliberately waited until this year to replace them hoping the Pilot 4 S would be available and the wait paid off!

See screenshot below from Tire Rack. Prices are CAD btw.

That good news! The Roadster and Coupe have the same tire sizes by the way.

I bought the pilot 4s tires for my Z4m coupe. They are pretty amazing. I had the pilot super sports on before. It's tough to be sure just how much better they are, or if they are for me since I had worn pilot super sports, then changed to fresh 4s tires. Not a truly fair comparison. But I do love my tires.
