How difficult was the install?

I agree 100%. Haven't done my fluid yet, but the other 4 (Trans mounts, ZHP, CDV & clutch stop) should all be a mandatory to-do on our cars. Big difference.

Glad it worked out for you!

Yes definitely all 5 are musts. The install was easy. I had the car on a lift so it made it really easy. Just drop a heat shield undo 6 bolts and drop the trans brace. Undo the old mounts. Laugh at how crappy they are and bolt the new mounts on (16 ft lb of torque) then slide the brace back in bolt it back up and put the top nuts on the trans mounts. Bolt the heat shield back down and youre done.

Are you sure you torqued the mounts to the correct spec. If you over torque them they will vibrate

Yup - I only notice it a certain speeds - its kind of like tire noise is the best way to describe it.

You've got NVH with the Rogue neoprene version? Poly are known for NVH, but I haven't heard that from most Rogue neoprene users. Maybe a bit more noise going into reverse and back to first, but otherwise not much change except shifting is more consistent and denial of second much less common. Any chance the infamous engine mount bolts could be acting up? Or has it been like this since the install?

It's kind of puzzling--just hoping we can get this sorted for you.

yeah i was thinking that the neoprene really should not have any increase in NVH and I havent noticed anything. I definitely hope we can figure out whats going on with your car! You deserve to enjoy your mounts as much as I am its quite a wonderful experience

It's a weekend and track car - Not concerned about creature comforts or noise...

I know you asked Bimmerguy, but I know he went with the Rogue Engineering (RE) transmission mounts. These are the ones I'd recommend as well for a car that sees both street and track use. For a pure track only car, of if NVH is of no concern, poly mounts are fine, but they do have a lot of NVH. The Rogue are neoprene, and offer significant improvement in controlling movement of the transmission without a lot of NVH. (I had red poly mounts--great at controlling movement--sound was intolerable to me.)

Rogue Transmission Mounts
Rogue Engine Mounts

There's a sticky that covers a lot of this ground too.

If you go with the Rogue Engine Mounts send me your impressions so I can update the sticky. (I have data on the UUC and Vorschlag, but none on the Rogue which should offer good performance and only a slight increase in NVH.)

Yeah I went with the RE trans mounts. I would definitely recommend them if you are daily driving the car. I modified the CDV myself but you can buy a modified one form Zeckhausen, I made a clutch stop using a carriage bolt and a rubber pad but you can buy one from UUC and I think RE has one too, I bought the ZHP knob from Tischer BMW, and I got the Pennzoil Synchromesh from Advance Auto Parts. You could also try a different fluid like Royal Purple Synchromax or Redline Synthetic MT90
