Went to the strip tonight.... results inside :)

Went to Gulfport Dragway in Gulfport Mississippi tonight and made a few runs in the M coupe....

Car is BONE stock right down to the paper air filter. Full weight, toolset and everything in the car... no weight removed and nothing done to modify the car.

Ran lots of 13.3's and 13.2's with consistent 1.9 60's best e.t. was:

1.9354----------60'
5.5367----------330'
8.4916----------1/8 ET
84.78-----------1/8 MPH
10.9958---------1000' ET
NONE-----------1000' MP
13.1238---------1/4 ET
106.53----------1/4 MPH

Even though I was getting 1.9 60's on the stock junk ass nearly bald tires, I was experiencing severe wheelhop on every run. Launches were done at around 3-3500 RPM. 30 PSI in the rear tires.

Overall I am very happy with both the ET and the trap speed. On a cooler night with some drag radials I'm sure I will get it in the 12's with no other mods than the DR's.

According to http://www.wallaceracing.com/0-60_equation.php based on my 1/8 mile ET and MPH that my 0-60 time was 4.2 seconds!!!

You may want to drop the rears down more to avoid axle-hop. 20psi or less on the rear wheel. Would probably get you right into the high 12.9 range on a perfect run. Heck our drag racing specialist tells me he will run as little as 12psi for the best launch.

20 or less on radials? I have found that they start to cup at low pressures (25ish and lower) and loose the center of the contact patch. And if the drag racing specialist is running 12psi then its on bias ply slicks.

I've heard (I'm not into drag racing but that's my industry) the trick working even on non-drag slicks. The way it was explained to me, which is still counter intuitive but swore by long time drag racers, is that the lower tire pressure results in a more pliable sidewall and therefore some deformation, and as the tires spin prior to hook up the centripedal force will "force" the tire to pull apart from the center and you will regain the contact patch. Allows a higher RPM launch than normal.

Doesn't make a lot of sense to me (I'm a road course guy, I'm used to hot pressure near 40psi) but a lot of guys swear by it. But if your experience indicate otherwise, I'm not here to argue.
