M2 seats in an E85?

Has anybody tried to install a set on M2 seats out of an F87 M2 in a 2003 E85? Is it even possible? I have no idea if you could hook up any of the electric features. The set I'm looking at are power w/memory, heat & lumbar. I believe it also has an airbag that I really don't care about.

Why but just buy Z4 M seats?

How comfortable and supportive are they on long drives? The F87 ones look to give better support & comfort than the sport seats in my E85.

I actually think the plushier non-m seats are more comfortable. I find most of M sport seats across most of the model lineup lack good lumbar support but where they shine is their lateral support (i.e., less sliding). In other words, looks aside, I prefer base seats for road trips, and sport seats for twisties.

My 3 cents, I don’t think the m2 seats are that much better or worth the hassle of trying to get them wired up. Pointless to bolt them in if you can’t actually adjust the seat via controls, nor would I want to deal with the airbag light.

I don't even know if physically they will fit. Then there is the wiring differences that I would have to correct with a different harness. As for the airbag I was hoping I could just not wire it up so it wouldn't be an issue. The seats do have power lumbar support that I would try to make sure works. I haven't even sat in them yet as a buddy removed them from his car to install M4 seats in his M2. There also is the cool factor as the seats are black, like my current ones, but have the blue stitching that matches the exterior on my car.

Different harness… are you going to create a custom one? Seems like you listed a bunch of reasons why this isn’t worth pursuing.

A custom harness would be what I would make. I don't like the cut & hack methods some use. Your probably correct as I really don't have the time right now for another "project". But damn they would look good in my car!

I considered replacing my seats, but the stock z4m seats are pretty nice, or they have just molded to me as i've owned the car since 2007. I have a pair of original recaro srd from an e30 m3 evo, but decided against the swap and made the recaros into office chairs. Stock seats just feel good.
