Roof slams down hard. Any adjustments I can make?

DC, thanks on the pinch plates. Yeah, they are there. I think this probably happened when the car was being detailed before I bought it, or at some point when the top was worked on. This is one of those things that is not noticeable, since it is black and is behind the driver/passenger's head, and since most of the time the top is down. I'll probably replace that headliner from a wrecked Z4 at some point. I found a great upholstery place in town that does a lot of convertible tops, so will probably work with them on replacing the top down the road...way down the road.

Is anyone with access to TIS able to supply the instructions for the strap installation for SI B54 14 07 or is the same as the pdf that has already been posted?

Well mine have been on less than a year and already broken. I can only imagine that I installed them incorrectly but I followed the instructions the best that I could. Has anyone else had issue with them? The plastic mounting part broke off on mine.
