extended warranty

I just got a quote for $6100 for the extended warranty and maintenance plan for a 2006 Z4M, which seems extremely high. Is this correct?

Sounds really high to me. I would almost bet that you would spend less out of pocket on maintenance and repairs on your own. The dealer is usually on the better end of the deal when it comes to these extended warranties.

I was considering doing this too (47K miles already ) but no effing way if it's anywhere near that much.

Was that for warranty AND service?

On my '06 3.0i which is CPO, the dealer quoted $1800 for extended maintenance.

I don't know the exact values, but it sounds much more expensive than what it should be. By the way, I'm told that extended maintanence is more important (and more worthy) than the extended warranty.

The original owner of my Z4M purchased the extended maintence at the time of purchase and it was $1395. Not sure how much the warranty would be.

Ultimately you have to make the call on how much you think it will cost to maintain and fix stuff for 2yrs.

I was thinking you should be able to get both for about $4k.
