Brake ducts on stock 3.0si front

Bought some ordinary bassports and drilled some holes

Now I just need to get some black flexible tubes and carry on with the plumbing

Nice, I did this a while back. The plumbing is by far the hardest part. Be sure to post pictures after everything's done. What size hoses are you going to use?

I will.
The hose I got my hands on is 76mm in diameter. The cut out for the port was 73mm. Not the best fit but I will make it work. Will also install same ports in the inner wheel wells for best possible fitment and look

Keep us posted. I used generic backing plates and made a custom clip to attach

Dubsesd: Do you have any picture of this backing plate?

I bougth this flexible hose.

I will remove the shiny bling things and use the hose clamps for fastening to my black tubes.

I used the Bimmerworld backing plates, not cheap but it was far cheaper than the other bling CF options. Sturdy as heck, although I removed the hoses last season b/c they were rubbing on my 255's up front but I'm considering re-installing them because I'm going through my front pads so quickly.

It's a shame nobody makes a bolt-on backing plate that uses a 2.5 or 2.75" hose. 3" hose is really wide and will inevitably rub when you run a wide square fitment which is what most track folks do.

I installed my "collectors" in the same area of the bumper as you did but I had a tough time reinstalling the bumper because the hoses were too rigid and would apply pressure in the opposite direction of the bumper. You can relieve some of the tension by installing the collectors further apart, near the fogs -- or at least that was the case with my install on the Aero bumper. I plan to remove fogs and collect air that way.

Ok. Finished for this time. I'll get some backing plates later on. Dont have any time to get that before next track event.
