Looking at getting a BBK 355 or 380?

So I'm looking at upgrading the brake on my couple and either getting a set of Brembos or Stoptechs but wanted opinions on either the 355 or 380 rotors? Furthermore, would you spend the extra $700 to go from the standard ST60 to the trophy kit? Honestly I know I would never use the capabilities of the trophy kits but just like the way they look. I do plan to track the car a couple times this year but other then a few auto x events many moons ago I have never been on a track.

Check the prices on ST-40 pads vs ST-60 pads on the 355 rotor size. I'm not sure if the variance is that extreme anymore, but when I looked at year and a half ago there was a huge price differential between the two.

I know that doesn't answer your question regarding the trophy brakes, but if there is a big difference between four and six pistons up front and pad price I thought you might want to know about it.

I ended up with the 355 as the 380 had fewer wheel choices. 380 looks great, but fitment seemed more limited. YYMD

I am very satisfied with my StopTech kit. I've never had any brake fade on the track. They are great on and off the track. I'd say not worth it to spend the extra for the Trophy Kit but to each their own. I am running 6 front and 4 rear and the stock pads that came with the kit.

Don't forget about your rims fitting back on with the BBK, might need spacers. Im not using spacers.

So did you end up 355 with a 4 or 6 pot in the front?

Are you running 355 or 380 rotors?

Ended up with 355 front and 4 pot. Track pads were, at the time I looked, about twice as expensive for the 6 pot due to size and shape.

The improved feel of the 4 pots front and rear is dramatic vs. stock. I can actually trail brake the car now--like I can with my E36. The binary on/off issue with the stockers is gone.

The 6 pots I have on another car do have a bit better feel, but IMO it's not the same as the stock to 4 pots. I'd make the same decision again based on the cost/life of track pads.

For street only or limited track use might as well go whole hog and get the six pot and 380. They look a lot meaner and if running costs (10-20 track days/year) a consideration why not?

i have 6/4pot AP setup and I'm pretty certain the 4 pot would easily do the job and not cost me half as much to run... i do however love the brake pedal feel and modulation with the 6pot fronts but i see no reason why this can't be the same with a 4 pot?

6 pot 355 as well.

with 380 18s might be an issue.
to me they would look too big on 18"

adds to unsprung weight as well.
