I was in there at 40k doing my shifter and didn't need it.

Are you doing a job where you're getting near it, anyway? Feeling play (thud) during engine braking or downshifts?

I had it changed at around 60-62k miles. It was showing signs of tearing...

Mine has cracks.
They look like just surface cracks, but every time I'm under there it seems like there's more of them.
I need to read up some more on how to replace it.
Gonna replace the center support bearing while I'm in there.
I'm at 99,850. A German Engineer might get his wings this week.

Yes it's the giubo. My mechanic checked it at inspection II and showed me the cracks it had so he replaced it.

How hard is it to replace? Is it a DIY job, or is it going to be too hard without a lift? How many hours of labor did your shops charge for it?
