Guido, pretty sure it's new stock, so the firmware should be up-to-date. I bought it from a seller on Ebay.de. Curious to see if I will need to hook up the coax cable - it's definitely present on my car (I've seen several posts online saying that the later, '06+ cars with the DSP system lack the coax connection) but I'll try to run it without before connecting it. I had a USA*Spec iPod adapter in the car before, and it sounded horrible, while the non-dap version sounds great in my ZHP. There was a huge loss of fidelity in the Z that is not an issue in the ZHP. Will report back impressions after it's hooked up this weekend.

Edit: Guido, do you know if I can use playlists with it? I seem to remember reading somewhere that it does support them, but not sure and don't know how I'd create them (running a Mac)? Thanks for any tips.

Well, THAT didn't go well! Went back to the dude that installed my USA*Spec iPod adapter 3 years ago. He moved the amp due to the shortness of the CD changer wires, and hooked up the CP600BMW alongside the battery cage, velcro'd to the side. Light was on and occasionally blinking on the unit, perhaps indexing. Got in the car, fired up the head unit.. doesn't see the CP600. I go ahead and leave, and now have an airbag idiot light, dim dash lights (that won't dim/brighten with the rheostat), head unit now doesn't come on at all, and that was after completely unplugging the CP600. I hope the amp isn't blown, that thing is expensive! Over to my mechanic to sort out on Monday. Arrrrrrgh.

It's looking like I'll have to replace the front bushings and tie-rods, so not excited about any of that. Probably will look at parts today

A Turbotoys C300 VANOS exhaust hub after my mechanic found one tab broken (but in place in the disk) during my inspection II at 50K miles. Car does not see any track or autocross time. It's not a matter of if....it's a matter of "when".

Installed new H&R Coilovers over the weekend, and a Mangowalk Stubby antenna.

I have the H&Rs set to the highest ride height. It lowered my M .9 inches in front, and .6 inches in the rear. Ride quality IMO is better than stock. I would describe it as a tad bit more firm but smoother. Not the back breaker that I've read about, but it may be due to having it set at a minimum drop.

The 3 inch antenna looks really nice and has not degraded reception and the Portland/Vancouver area.

So I got the CP600BMW CD changer emulator working, finally. It's awesome. Have 30 gigs of music on an SD card, which is treated like 6 disks, each parent folder supporting some huge number of potential nested subfolders. I have 2 big playlists loaded as 1 & 2, all my albums loaded under 3 & 4, compilations under 5, and the entire Rush catalog under 6. It's lightning-fast, and the sound quality is great. I used a $6 program called iTunes Export to export from iTunes, and convert to mp3 on the fly, at the same bitrate (256k) as the AAC files in iTunes. Converting doesn't seem to hurt sound quality as there probably just isn't much to squeeze out once already set in AAC format. The program also creates playlists and will name your files in a bunch of configurable conventions. I have the track number leading the names, so that everything plays in proper order. It's a great solution, and ridiculously small, and reasonable in price, These guys ought to offer them in the states, I think they'd sell a crapload of 'em.

Those console screw cover plates are a PITA.
There is no way to remove them w/o breaking the tabs.
.....I've gone through a few of them.

Will those be on stock wheels? Also, could you post pics when you've installed them? I've been debating between 10mm and 12.5 myself.

Driver's side just fell off one day. Won't snap back in.
Warped from heat and age. Stuck it back on with a dot of crazy glue.
I was buying oil anyways, so I threw a couple on the list.
Just bought 6L of the new Twinpower Turbo for a change coming up soon.
I'll be trying out the oil drain ball valve, too.
Stay tuned for fitment report.
