Where to get Konis for Z4M Coupe?

I currently have Eibach springs and Dinan/Koni prototype shocks that I bought from another member a while ago. It is now time to get a new set of shocks so I figured I'd go with Konis again since I've had no complaints with them.

I looked in the usual places (BavAuto, Turner Motorsport, TireRack, ECSTuning, etc.) but can't find Konis for my Z4M Coupe. I'm usually pretty good at googling but for the life of me, I can't find any. There are Konis listed for the Z4MR and in fact, Summit Racing shows Z4MR and Z4MC sharing the same Koni shocks but realoem says Z4MR and Z4MC have different shocks.

I did go through the springs/shocks versus coilovers debate in my head but I'm pretty sure I don't need all the coilover advantages.

Come to think of it, maybe the Dinan/Koni prototypes I've been using were meant for the Z4MR?

Can I use Z4MR Koni shocks? What's the difference?

It looks like the Koni front shocks listed for the Z4MR is incorrect. It appears there are no Koni front shock option for the Z4M.

So for those Z4M owners without coilovers, what did you replace your OEMs with? Bilstein HDs seem to be the only option.

Those Koni you have were originally part of a Dinan package for our cars.
Bilsteins are your best bet now.

Thanks guys...

With Bilsteins being the only option, I'm reconsidering coilvers. I don't really want to have to deal with potential clunks and any kind of noise that may come with coilovers though especially since my car is mostly a daily driver

Pretty hard to beat H&Rs for a basic setup.
For the short time that I had them, there was no extra noise and ride was very good.

Why after a short time did you get rid of them? How would you compare them to what you have now?

Just wondering as I will eventually need to replace my shocks.

I had them as a stop gap, waiting for my MCS to come in.
I had already sold my Clubsports.

The MCS is more of a track focused coilover, the H&R are more of a street coilover with no damper adjustments, they really don't compare.
The H&R are great for what they're designed to be.

Ian, I think you replace your suspension almost every year

Why don't you just rebuild the koni's?

My car got hit on the left side, right at the wheel, and the shock tower looks bent according to the body shop. My thought process was aimed straight at finding replacements that I did not even consider this possibility.

Thanks, you definitely gave me one more option to consider

Check out ground control. I've had 3 sets of coilovers from them and they've been great. They use a Z4M specific front shock too and everything they do is Koni.

Check out TC Kline Racing. They sell Konis for the Z4MR but they also do a ton of mods and car specific work on Koni SA or DA struts/shocks. They may be quicker and less expensive than going back to Koni NA....
