Tree Sap Miracle
My son is home from college and using my daily driver/bad weather car, a TLX. I took a look at it in the garage last night and freaked out: sap all over the top facing surfaces. Now I don’t keep my daily pristine, so the freak out wasn’t because of that. But sap has got to go. I grabbed my latest tar/sap cleaner on hand, Stoner Tarminator, and am less than pleased with how long it takes to remove just one spot. My prognosis was that it was going to take hours to clean off the sap. After telling my son and wife that theylll be chipping in with the cleanup (in of course a very relaxed, civil tone). I hit the web to see what the latest is on sap removal: Isopropyl Alcohol seems to beat out commercial products.
Before I try the alcohol, to pre-clean the surface a little I reach for my standard waterless wash product that I use daily to freshen my car in between full washes: Pinnacle Waterless Wash with Carnauba. To my surprise, misting with that, waiting ten seconds and then wiping/drying. IS REMOVING THE SAP WITH NO EFFORT AT ALL. A miracle I tell you. I was done in half an hour. So, this stuff is great as an in between wash cleaner as I said, but it’s also very economical. You can get it as a concentrate and 1/2 ounce makes 16 ounces. Highly recommended. https://www.pinnaclewax.com/waterles...RoCZZ8QAvD_BwE Last edited by elerner61; 05-22-2018 at 07:18 PM.. |

You might laugh, but if you have some WD40 around - give it a shot and let it set for a second. I have used it for tons of stuff even road tar. Worth a shot and you might have some on a shelf already...........
