2008 diff fluid change
Anyone have a picture of the location of the drain plug on a 2008 diff (3.0si)? The fill plug is obvious but I want to be sure of the drain before I go removing n incorrect bolt. I know it's not the same as that on the 2.5.
TIA |

According to the TIS, if you have a differential with "Lifetime Fill" sticker on it (which is highly likely), there is no drain plug, you will have to unbolt the cover and replace the gasket if that is the case. If you have a cover with a drain plug, it is on the lower right of the cover, seen from the back of the car.

As the proud owner of an '08 si roadie, and also the previous owner of an '05 3.0, I can confirm the face lifted car does NOT have a drain plug on the diff, it was deleted with the 'upgrade' to lifetime fill.
Coincidentally, my diff fluid is being changed as I type this. Without the drain, it's simply a matter of sucking the old fluid out with an evacuator and then refilling it to the top. |
