Sounds good to me. Looks like you got a nice deal there. Is the map adaptable like ESS's? Why only 150RPM more by the way? Seems like a bit of a random number to be honest. :P

The "Adaptive" period you talk about is a stock feature for our cars. It adapts to the way you personally drive it. When the DME i taken out it resets so if you Drive like you stole it for the first 150 miles, you will notice it will be a little bit more responsive. You can do this with out getting a tune, it won't be as noticeable but there is a thread in the D.I.Y section that shows you how to do so. See here, http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62196 as for the RPM's I believe it was the chosen increase while still remaining safe.

Im not talking about the throttle pedal adaptation. I'm very much aware of that.
ESS claims that their tune will adapt itself as you add more performance modifications like different intakes etc. It will take advantage of the mods better than a stock ECU. That's what i mean.

It's actually my car in the video! Thanks for posting it up, J. One thing to point out up front was that it was insanely hot the day we did this. The dyno graph shows it to be 94.4 degrees with a relative humidity of around 40%. That's oppressive conditions.
So, I have only the following power-making modifications: Supersprint Section 1 & 2And that's it. I'm extremely pleased with the results mostly because of how much smoother the power delivery is. I made it clear to Bren that I did not want a tune that maximized power but instead provided a more consistent and linear power curve. Since my car sees a lot of track days, I didn't want to make more power at the expense of reliability and/or increased heat. I obviously haven't made it on track yet but I'm confident it will deliver on these fronts.

your car sounds amazing, BTW! how much was the tune? $650? just for S&G right now, how would I get them to tune my car? I'm not looking to do this anytime soon, just curious.

And I think you'd probably be sending your ECU to BrenTuning and they'd send it back to you. I would think overnight shipping would be used so downtime would be around 2-3 days. I remember when I shipping out my own ECU from my 330Ci to Active Autowerks, the only catch is that you need to insure the package to like $3000 in case it gets lost. Basically, to cover the purchase of a new ECU and associated dealership programming costs!

is this "tune" just a flash on the ECU without a dyno? similiar to ESS? or is the dyno tune needed along with the flash to achieve those numbers?

^ i think its just a flash, as the dyno runs were extra cost just to show the gain.

Correct. Just a flash. The dyno was just so I could see before/after numbers. (First time dyno-ing the car)
