Proud Soon-to-be-Owner

I'm less than a month away from being the (very) happy new owner of a BMW Z4 . I do have one last question before I take the plunge, though.
I'm trying to decide between the 3.0i 2003-2005 model, or the 2006 3.0si. My question is, are the extra features (and power) worth the extra money for the 3.0si?

Considering feature for feature, a few more options, more power, some remaining warranty, then one of the later model cars would be the more logical choice.

If you are Mr. Spock, that's the way to go.

But as you're probably not from the planet Vulcan, as logical as you may approach it, you'll quickly learn that buying a Z4 is an act of the heart. You may find a gorgeous 2003-2005 Z4, and next thing you know, you're driving it home.

Good luck with the hunt!

And a very warm welcome to the forum!!!

The 3.0 is a peppy little engine. By no means would it not be a fun car. What are you facing pricewise between your options and what are the other differences. Options you say? What about any standard and/or CPO warranty? Mileage?

LCI vs PRE LCI
255hp vs 235hp
Standard Premium audio vs Not standard

thats about it lol...

personally i think the LCI looks waaaaaay better. the tails and the front bumper really make the car more elegant.

i have been looking for an si to buy for a while and i am looking at a couple on friday!

I think it is worth it... obviously. The power alone seemed worth it to me. The si also had the sports package and the sports button, which is an easy way to make the car act a little more peppy.

Unless it is a CPO, there would not be a warranty left, but it if is CPO then you will still have some warranty on the si. Again, depends on the price difference, options you want and stuff like that as well. They are both good cars and have happy owners.

p.s. I thought the 3.0i only had 215 hp.... or am I thinking of the 2.5i? It has been a while since I have looked at those. Also, the si has the sports package and the 3.0i won't. This itself gives you several features.
