Water in battery compartment...

Sound system started acting up today (subs stopped working), so I went to take a look @ the amp.
Upon taking the cover off I noticed an appreciable amount of water in the compartment. The entire compartment & lid is moist w/condensation.
My car is parked on a slight hill so there is about an inch of water around the amp. Not much around the battery. when level there is probably 1/4-1/2" around both the battery & amp.

I haven't noticed the trunk leaking when it rains. Though I can't think of anywhere else for that much water to get in there from.
I haven't spilled a gallon of water in there or anything...

Check your 3rd brake light lens on the trunk lid. They are known to crack and let water in. The issue with water around the amp has been discussed before.

Yeah, I noticed mine cracked a few months ago.
Shocking it can let that much moisture in (considering the lights placement).

Thanks.

Glad to be of service. I hear they allow a lot of water in. At least you will know to replace it right away if it happens again

Did this end up fixing the leak? Or did you have to keep looking for a solution?
