Not at all. It means it’s actually now serviceable. I can swap back to OEM bulbs or replace with same spec bulbs from Osrsm, Philips, etc.

nice. Details on the tune, please? From who, did you have them set it to ignore post cat O2s and EGT? I've had euro headers sitting around for years, my issue has been what to do with the post cat O2 sensors and EGT and my reluctance to modify section 1 to make these work.

In terms of plug n play no tune options.
  1. Easiest solution is to source a European Section 1 and unbundle the existing wire loom to extend the rear most O2 sensor down the driver side of the transmission tunnel.
  2. Alternatively you can weld new O2 bungs in your existing USA Section 1

Thanks. I have found a used US section 1, so I might pick that up to modify and keep one OE. I reached out to Josh Severn because I am interested in a tune to see about ignoring the post cat O2s and egt with a tune, but I also want to understand if there are any issues with that, what the post cat O2 and egt are used for before I decide. So waiting to hear back before I buy a used Section 1 to experiment on...

Maybe you can get your hands on a DKF S-pipe? Else you can use o2 simulators. I ran those on my N52 while leaving o2 sensors on/enabled and I passed emissions with no problem.

Never imagined I'd get this lucky and end up with a brand new genuine Aero bumper. Thank you fellow forum member for selling it to me - you know who you are :-) It was also awesome meeting and catching up in person on our BMWs.

Had it professionally painted by my trusted body shop and color mach is spot on for a 16y old car. Installation was a breeze, just a PITA to do without a second set of hands. Also decided to go with all-black kidney grilles - was never a fan of the gray slates.

Before and after shots. P.s. that's water from the wash on the floor - not an oil leak :-)

Just had a fresh set of Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 tires in the original size installed to replace the set of Contis I had on before, which I loved.

The old rears were, shall we say, a little worn, and the fronts were original to the car (06 Date Code)

Big caveat here. I have no smog testing in my area. My guy got out his laptop after the header /bearing install and deleted the o2 sensors. He put the post o2 sensors and egt in a box and handed them to me. No codes after 750 miles. Cold start is disabled so it may stumble when under 50 degrees out at startup but all good. Runs like a striped ape. I am talking to Josh at Sevren to maybe do their OTS tune later this year just for the data logging to get it all perfect. I also waited about 6 years to do the euro headers. I have the Dkf section one and both 300 and 100 cats plus resonators laying around in a box (for sale) but just went with the tune to delete.

Josh's OTS tune is a good all around tune that you can't go wrong with but the MAF based tune is where the full potential is realized.
Any mods you have planned for the engine, headers, intake, valve adjustment and such should be done before you start data logging.

I was able to score a cheap E46 M3 diff which I will finally use to build my 4.1 setup. I hope it does not take too long before I can finally put it on and experience it

Oh man…. That thing is going to be a hoot. Totally transform the car, I miss driving local roads with my 4.10. I am contemplating gears again but going with something milder like 3.85 from E9x m3.
