Rated M, welcome! The power of the Z called you back eh?

Beautiful and rare color there, and it looks very very clean. 14k miles? Great find!

Forum member houies just showed up around these parts, and he's also in Albuquerque (thread). I think you guys may be the only Albuquerque folks on the forum, and I'd bet Zs in Albuquerque are pretty rare.

Congratulations, and good luck avoiding the mod monkey.

My first car when I got my license was a 1983 320is, which was then followed up by a 1988 325is, then I took a break to go tinker with some Japanese cars and had tons of fun with them, but ultimately came back to BMW with my current ride, a 2000 323ci. The E46 has treated me well, but the itch for something new has been scratching for a while, and since I've always wanted a roadster, although I've driven and researched Boxsters, s2000s, 350zs, the one that keeps pulling me back is the Z4.

My first experience with a Z4 was back in 2004, I was barely a year out of college and my company had worked out a deal with the college that I go back and represent the company as a new grad to speak to current students about life on the other side. Luckily for me, one of the company cars was a brand new 2004 Z4 3.0 with the SMG transmission. Needless to say, it was an awesome feeling driving down to my old college in a new roadster representing my company and a new grad. I'll never forget that feeling.

Hopefully by spring I'll be part of the club, I'm looking at 2005 or 2006 model years, definitely want the 3.0, definitely want a 6 speed, and even though they are a tough find, would love a model with the M Sport seats.

Look forward to learning about the car and being part of the culture.

Thanks,
Gernard
Oh how things change in the span of six months...

Picking up an 06 Z4MC tomorrow morning , this will be my first M car from BMW and I'm so excited it's been hard for me to fall asleep the past few days. Glad that I am finally able to join the club!

Hi Gang,

Grooverider, I'm a Brit hailing from Auckland in New Zealand.

We own Frau Schwartz (photo's below) and have done for a year and a half now. She's a 2003 3.0i, a bit baggy and not perfect, but plenty quick, and just this week she reached 80,000kms!

All I've done to her is put in the American Dice Kit for Ipod connection and de-baged her as a previous owner had done a bodge job and added some cheap and nasty numbers. Z4's aren't too popular here, it's such a pleasure to get out with the roof down and get the positive comments and longing stares that more exotic cars would generate!

While we don't commute for work, she is our only car - we've been camping with her, and even attach a bike rack to carry two mountain bikes!!!!!

Have been a trawler of the forum for a while but thought it about time to 'reveal' myself!

Keep up the good work!

P.S. Photo's are from a recent skid pan day a friend and I went on - what a great laugh that was! I can recommend it to all

Just getting started with this forum. Very addictive.
I just got a 2007 Z4 M Coupe which is even more addictive.
I cannot bring myself to take a shortcut anywhere anymore.

Hello!

Hi all,

Just joined after lurking for the last 3 months. Picked up my beauty at the end of April, was a tough find, but was thrilled to drive it home as my own. CPO 2008 Z4 M Roadster with 27K miles. Makes me smile every time I sit in it.

Winding down a bit after a day at the track and a long ride home before I go join the festivities across the street for the 4th. So I thought I'd check in the this thread.

Got any potentials lined up? Looking forward to your perspective on the car...it's always nice to have folks with a lot of cars/driving experience here on the forum. I've learned a lot from "listening" here. I'll give you a big welcome and have my fingers crossed you find the right car.

Local BMW club runs 1 and 2 day course at the track. I think it would benefit me to know what this car is capable of doing. And of course it sounds like the more track time, the more fun.
