Brake pad sensors

Hey guys,

Strange question, but I'm about to replace the brakes on my Z4M and I went ahead and ordered everything but somehow managed to remove the pad sensors from the order before I put it through. Now I've got everything here to do it except for the sensor.

I'm trying to find something in town but my buddies BMW indy shop doesn't have a supplier that can get them besides the local dealership at 2-3 times the price and a week lead time. Apparently these are Z4M specific?? Can anyone confirm or offer an alternative? It's not exactly breaking the bank but it would be about a $60 savings and save me a week of waiting if I could use say, the standard Z4 or e46 sensors and have them fit the same.

Unless you've actually tripped the sensors, you will probably be able to re-use them. I've only had them fall apart on removal for me after a track day with race pads in, where the front one ends up seriously cooked.

Just don't lose the little u-shaped spring clip that may or may not stay attached to the sensor when you remove it.

^This^ I don't think I've had to replace a sensor in the last 10 years.

^WHS.
I ordered everything that was recommended to be replaced and was thinking "Why am I replacing these? They're perfectly fine."
I rebuilt my parking brakes while I was in there, and again ordered everything that was recommended, including the star adjusters.
Star adjusters? How are those supposed to wear out?

BMW is just looking to make more after sale cash.

Were you able to get things sorted out with the sensor?
