And of course, they would all know that one suppose to push the "claw" in one size smaller then the cup before setting the cup in.

I use my cup holder on occasion, but tend to get a bit ... erm ... "focused" in my car and like to experiment with heel-toe shifting, threshold braking and slow-in, fast out cornering. So far I've perfected my slow-in, tea-in-lap technique. It sounds like I need one of the Ultimate cup holders - I'm tired of fishing my water bottles out from under the passenger seat on drives! Also, I need a track day.

No wonder people hate our cup holders... they don't know how to use them!! I like the oem cup holders. They work just fine. And they work best as JDN34 said... place the cup in the holder and sinch it tight... then lift the cup up and click the adjustable arm one click tighter before placing the cup back down. Keeps things nice and snug.

Some of us don't have either feature

A caution on the cup holders, they may un-ratchet a click or two when a heavy drink is in there.

YEAH, and then watch as it UNCLICKS and coffee spills on your door panel and left leg on the first corner you take. For me, only 12oz cups hold there. Otherwise the center of gravity of the container is too high

^ And when the liquids spill they do it right onto the window controls! What horrible placement!

I think all years have the fold in mirrors... right?

LOL I litterally just found out how to properly use the cup holder. I said to myself what a stupid design since no cups could fit in it LOL. Learn something new about your car everyday

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure folding mirrors was an option like cruise control which I also don't have.

I think power fold in mirrors were standard in Canadian cars

Power folding mirrors were part of the Z4 premium package in Canada (along with Bluetooth, power seats, auto-dim mirrors, and wind deflector). They may also have been available ala carte. In a few decades of driving, I don't recall ever feeling the need to tilt a mirror inboard here in Canada. When I was working in the UK I tilted them in all the time - roads are considerably narrower over there, especially in the towns, and parking roadside you had a very good chance of losing them if you didn't.

You've never been on the coastal ferries here in BC then ;-) Both the BC Ferries and Washington State Ferries pack you in like, well, well-packed things. Saved my car from dings to the mirrors I'm sure.

I've done a number of trips over the years on both inland BC ferries and the Vancouver Island routes, inlcluding a nice tour last year in the Z4. Guess I've been lucky not to get sandwiched between the Escalades ...

That's weird. My imported from the US Z4 3.0si has the American spec premium package, meaning that it has bluetooth and power seats, but no power folding mirrors. I bought my wind deflector after getting the car.

My buddy's Canadian spec Z4 has the Canadian premium package with the stuff you mention, but no bluetooth.

As neat as the power folding mirrors are, I think I would manually fold them if I ever had to put the car on a ferry.

Folding the mirrors manually is no big deal, as we all know from our first beater car, but they are convenient when you have no passenger to help. Had it been an option, I would have passed unless it was in a premium package.

Unlike WestCDA, I think the ferry workers are jealous of my ride and stuck me beside the big Ford Exploders ;-)

When I said folding mirrors I meant manually. I don't think anything else was an option in the US. And I believe ALL Z4 have manually folding mirrors.

I thought AUX port was 2007+. $40 bucks or less to install though so not a huge deal.

I would've liked PDC like they got in europe. I think the bumper looks cleaner without the sensors, so not having them is also not a big deal.

It is indeed 07' and up, my 06' certainly does not have the Aux port; but I would like to have power folding mirrors........the idiot home designer that laid out my garage door sizes must have owned an MG or BMW Isetta!!

I used the power folding mirrors on my wife's Volvo quite a bit when we lived in Germany, especially when we would come face-to-face with a big truck on a narrow mountain road.
