I was rear ended this summer. One of the four exhaust tips on my mufflers was bent in the collision. Instead of ordering 1 new muffler, the body shop cut off the damaged tip and welded on an aftermarket tip. In order to make this new tip match the undamaged tips, they decided (without consulting with me) to cut off the undamaged tips and weld on 3 more aftermarket tips. I got new Eisenmann mufflers so I no longer need the stock ones. The mufflers are in great shape and sound great. They only have 25k miles on them. The only flaw is cosmetic. There are 4 aftermarket tips welded on. New mufflers from BMW cost 2400 for the pair. This is a great deal for somebody who wants the stock sound from their M.
