Hey forum, I'm looking at a '06 MR with 27,000 miles. Based on the maintenance records it had the 1200 oil change at 1700, oil change at 10194 and again at 20258 at a dealer under full maintenance plan. There is not a record of Insp 1 and the valve adjustment. The service indicator was reset. Too many red flags or just poor recording of insp 1 at the 20258 service on the dealer's part? I've got a call in to that dealer to see if they will share that info.
Is it too late to do the valve adjustment without long term issues? Thanks! |

No, Inspection I is anywhere from 25,000 - 30,000.
If the car passes the PPI, then there shouldn't be any problems. I would use that fact as a negotiating tool to knock down the price a bit, since you should have it done at around $1,000 cost. I'd imagine you'd really have to drive it long and hard for any major problems to occur from no valve adjustments. |
