Wheel weight

I got bored this evening so I decided to break out the floor jack and do a quick wheel comparo. I did take a crappy picture with my iphone but I am reluctant to share b/c my car was dirty and I don't have suspension on yet...I can tell you that it was even better looking than I expected (it was hot).

Funny thing- I knew my 19" Volk RE30s /tires would be lighter than my stock 18" wheels and tires but I had no idea!

I forgot to write down the stock rear tire/wheel weight but my memory says 60lbs.

1. 225s on Factory 18 wheels (front)= 56.7lbs
2. 275s on Volk 19*10 (rear)= 46.8lbs (13.2lbs less per rear corner!!!!)
3. 245s on Vok 19*9 (front)=42lbs (14.7lbs less per front coner!!!)

That adds up to be one hell of weight savings...even rotational mass savings.

I cannot wait for spring until I can permanantly mount these!

wow thats awesome savings.
The wheels save what like 3kgs a corner so must be the tires making the biggest difference?

Cant wait to get some light weight rims, i thought i would go with 18s but if ur saving that much with big 19s i might reconsider.

My 19*10 volks weigh ~19lbs. I think the wheels are big weight loss all by themselves.

I took pictures of all wheels but since I was using my iPhone, only 2 came out with legible weights on the scale...I guess I had too much coffee LOL.

Volk Rear 19*10 wheel with 275 tires on.

Stock Front 18" Wheel with 225 tires on.
