Winter tire size question...

Sorry if this is a repost...

I'm looking into buying a M Coupé 08 and I would like to know what other members use as winter tire sizes....

Can I use 4 tires of the same size on the wheels that come with the car? Or since the wheel widths are different, I need to purchase different sizes (front and back) ?

What are you using ?

Thanks,

I'm running 225/40/18 on the stock wheels. The rears are a bit stretched but I already had the tires from my e46 so I decided to give it a shot. Working out really well so far.

What brand and model are they?

I was questionning myself if it was possible to do that...

They are Yokohamas, I believe YK520 is the model, and they were siped by Discount Tire. I looked on Tirerack first at some random 225/40/18 tire and they listed the wheel width range up to 9.0 max, same as our stock rears. Again, its not ideal if you're buying new tires as its a little stretched and doesn't give any wheel protection. Just happened to work out because I already had them on hand.

I have stock size snow tires on my stock wheels...okay but skinnier rears would have been better

Just Have to be careful with 17's not all will fit around our brakes. Ask me how I know...
