Steering Rack

Question. I own a '03 bmw Z4. (Under 70k in miles) I'm getting sounds off and on depending on the weather and the time driving the car from the Steering Rack. It's not bad, it's just that I'm worried because I bought the car back in Jan. So the Big Question....To repair the Steering Rack, or if I let it go as it is now, what will it effect???

Ranger vet,
You are asking the same questions you did in your other post.

What I would do is
1. Do the grease nipple mod on the steering column. It solved my squeeky/grinding/sticking steering.
2. If this stops the noise you are hearing you have minimal costs invested
3. If the noise persists move on to the steering rack.

Thank You Very Much....I did not know about Greasing the Nipple Mod. I'll get on that. And if it continues, do I have sometime before I move on to the Steering Rack???
