Can I run 35mm offset on the front for non-M?

Thinking about picking up a new set of shoes for my non-M coupe. It's a non-staggered set up of 18x8 with 35mm offsets. Main concerns, will I rub if I run a 225/40-18 (I know the rears will not be a problem) and any decrease in peformance by switching to a square set up?

if your car isn't lowered, rubbing wont be an issue
i have a staggered 19" set up (8x19 ET 37 225/35R19 front, 9x19 ET 39 255/30R19 rear) and there is absolutely no rubbing.

Yes! I'm running 19s with a 35 offset (E90 fitment) all around. No issues with rubbing. I'm not sure about the performance, but I recommend a staggered fitment! GL
