LED exterior lamps
Where is a good source for good LED backup lamps on a 2007 Z4MC? I'd love a little extra light for backing this thing into parking stalls at night. I believe the 06+ are W16W type, If anyone could recommend a physical store (preferably one in Canada) or a reputable online one. No bulb error is a must, I don't want to have to get into modifying anything or adding resistors to the harnesses
I also found through this board (or z4-forums.com) that the 1 series license plate lamps are an oem P&P option. Anyone else tried these before I drop $30 on it? (P/N 63 26 7 193 294). http://www.ecstuning.com/ES1833250/

Try these for the reverse lights(yours are 921 style):
http://www.amazon.com/iJDMTOY-Replac.../dp/B00JK020H2 They work well. For the license plate I just got generic LEDs. You can get the OEM LED's BMW uses in other cars from what I have read as well. http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1121411 |

Those IJDM ones are okay, not 800 lumens. I end up putting it on my lexus and try to find better solution for the z4. The cree ones are bright but doesn't use reflectors and doesn't spread the lights out well. Very hard to find super high power led backup lights

Here's what I've been sporting for about a year.
Turn signals, PY21W/7505, Bimmian WTSZZY5AB Main brakes, P21W/1156/7506, Bimmian WTSZZY8XB Backup, W16W/921, eBay 30W CREE Panic brakes, H21W, eBay 50W CREE The panic lights are not error free. I have them wired in parallel with the main brake lights and the wires that would have connected to them terminated with 20Ω resistors.

I did buy those crazy expensive ones from Bimmian.
The turn signals and main brake lights have internal resistors, so they're error free. The turn signals are insanely bright. The brake lights come out pink, since the lenses were designed for <4000K and the LEDs are about 6000K. The back-up lights are not monitored, so no error-free bulb required. The back-up LEDs seem at least as bright as the stock incandescents, and they look really cool from outside the car. Like gleaming diamonds. Comparison

Probably, but I don't know for sure. You may want to research that.

Bimmian doesn't list front turn signal LED bulbs....I emailed them and their response...."we don't know....send us the OEM lamp part #s"....this is an unacceptable response.

Probably just like these that I bought for my panic brake lights. I tried to put one in the front turn signal holder, but it wouldn't go in far enough to turn by a gnat's eyelash. The base is about 1mm too short. Could have filed the bulb or the housing, but I was busy working on the rears, so I gave up early. My big question is if you got one in the holder, could you get the holder in the headlight? The LEDs are a lot longer than the stock bulb, and I would be afraid to jam it home and break the amber lens. You try first and let me know. Those are the only exterior bulbs that I haven't replaced with LEDs.

I'm on final approach to purchase Bimmian LED exterior lamps....anyone purchased the Bimmian LED's? Were there error codes after installation? Were there any fitment issues for the front or rear, or side marker lamps?

I have Bimmian rear turn and brake. They have internal resistors, so they're error free.
I used external resistors on the panic brake lights and coded out the check on the halos. See post #8. See if you can get red LED brake lights, instead of white, or they'll turn out pink. Or maybe add some R0ME0 overlays. I'm tempted.

Bump!
I'm about to order a set of the Philips 921LED bulbs for my reverse lamps. They seem to have fairly positive reviews online, hopefully they're a bit brighter than oem. Also ordering a set of the oem LED license plate lamps. Has anyone had any luck with their angel eye bulbs that don't require external resistors or anything along those lines? I know some guys code things out that they don't want or need, but I haven't yet figured out how to use that software. My buddy gave me a set of white 64113 LED bulbs to try in mine when one burnt out last weekend. Needless to say this is not the "white" I was looking for and I'm currently running with only one functional halo.
