Volk Progressive ME Finally Came in
Wow only took 2 months. On some Azenis RT-615 Rubber 18x8.5 +36 245/40 18x9.5 +20 275/35 Rubs a bit in the back but its probably due to the Azenis having a stiffer sidewall and running a bit wide. But most likely it won't rub with the same sizes with a different brand of tire. Car is lowered on H&R springs. But those wheels sizes.. are perfect if you don't want the wheels to poke, but I've heard more agressive offests will fit the Z4M These are the same wheels inTgr8r got but in a smaller size I think. Actually, if you look at it a few times the blue calipers look really good with the car's grey.

They're a 1 piece forged & very strong. They'll take quite a bit of daily drive punishment.

Yea, I've always had great luck with Volk 1pc Forged wheels, no bending, cracking or flaking. Thats why even on this car I decided to go with them again.
inTgr8r is it just me or what. But I think the wheels look better a bit dirty. haha |

Wow, nice setup. I especially like the brakes, are those direct bolt ons from Rotora? Also, how do you like the Rt615s on this car? I only have 200 miles on my new Z4MC and I already hate the stock Continentals. I always run the RT615s on my Evo and love them.

615's are ok on the car. I kept lowering tire pressure the whole day i was at the track started at 38. And it just wasn't feeling right. I know the door says 30psi, but I was also worried if i go 30 or lower I might knock off a bead on the track if I went into the dirt. Maybe next time i'll just man up and do it. Try Kumho MX they're another well priced street/track tire. The stocks tires suck ass. I attribute the stock tires to the reason why every magazine liked the Porsche Cayman S better. But thats just me |

Wait, you went down to 30psi hot? That's way too low, you should be 38-40 hot. Cold temps don't really mean much, adjust em after doing a few laps, if you're not doing that already.
How does the turn-in feel? Can you feel the stiffer sidewalls or is the suspension not tight enough for it to transmit to the driver? |

I my last target was 35 hot. I started at 38 cold.
I guess I shouldn't try 30psi then, I just heard that its a good starting point to use the pressure marked on the door. Suspension wasn't tight enough you can feel the shocks giving. I think some hardened upper mounts will help or some pillow ball mounts. |

I dunno man. To each his own I guess. I think my brakes could use another coat of paint since the black is coming off. I'd have to go either red, or really red.

Great looking car. What about all of this talk about H&R's making clunking noises and being too bouncy with stock shocks? Do I really have to get coil-overs to lower properly? I've used H&R on my NSX's with no problems.

38-40 is a great target temp when HOT. 30 is way too low--even dangerous. If you really want to measure accurately, get a pyrometer and measure the temp across the width of the tire when hot. Google search tire pressure and pyrometer and you'll understand this a little more. Good luck!!! |
