Nice thing is it still prevents an in gear start.
This also helps for those with clutch stops adjusted to where it's hard to get the switch to engage sometimes.
I wasn't aware there is was any electronics/sensors on the shifter/trans except the reverse light switch.

Are you saying, with the EWS module coded to not require the clutch to be pressed to start the car and the shifter is in any gear, the starter won't engage? I assume the ignition/spark/fuel pump would still be active so you can jump the car in gear rolling down a hill?

Thanks for the reminder I meant to confirm this sooner.

The car was on the lift ramps at the time, so I didn't confirm the 'in gear' lockout.
I posted what the code description was and only checked neutral start.

I had the car out last night, and you are correct, there is no in gear detection.
The car will start clutch out and in gear.

I have amended my post .

The "'neutral"' probably refers to an auto trans.

codemycar.com

So I contacted this company at the beginning of summer 2016 and never really got around to pulling the trigger. I recently swapped out the oem rims/tires for a set of apex arc-8's with continental contitech dw's. Boom the TPMS light on the dash burst into flames. This little annoyance made me seek out www.codemycar.com and I spoke to Okee(okay) who codes the cars. "No problem" he stated and today in Chicago via New Jersey he was here and I got some other stuff done as well. TPMS is off and disabled, door chimes gone, seat belt chime gone, double flasher euro hazards enacted with some other minor stuff. Well worth the wait, nice guy, fast and done right. Thanks for a job well done.

Same experience, painless.(we just texted back and forth a couple of times). He also activated the oem alarm i installed.Took about 30 minutes total(setting up the files on my end actually took longer then the coding process). He will also give you a break($) if you need to recode anything....
