WTB : Interior trims, any color, any condition!

Hi guys,

Since finding carbon leather trims is pretty much impossible unless you want to ditch 1300$+ at the stealership, I will go ahead and cover my trims with NAPA leather with the "double stich seams" and everything.

The thing is, I want to take my time to do this and I don't want to leave my car stripped out during the whole process so I am looking for a set of trims, particularly the big dash trim and the center console trim, any kind of trim aluminum, wood etc, I don't care since they will end up covered anyway.

I don't want to pay really expensive as they will basically be used as canvas, so I don't mind if they are scratched etc, as long as they clip correctly.

I am sure there is some folks in here with obsolete wood trims laying aroud

Thanks!

Actually I said 1300$ just like that....Just checked and it looks like it's pretty much 1800$ just for the 3 trims. That's right lol.

How much does it cost to cover the pieces with leather? Sounds like a good alternative!

I have sent a few estimate requests this weekend so I will be able to answer this question this week hopefully.

Wrapping them in plain leather is super easy, put some glue and wrap the trim. The thing is I want to get the "double stitch seams" like like the OEM carbon leather wrap like this :

I did lots of research on how to do these it's not that complicated, the hard part is making your canvas with the exact mesures to make sure that both stitch lines can sit flush on the sides once you are ready to glue the fabric.

The result I expect is some thing like this :

But with alcantara instead of red leather and black stitching.

It would basically look just like the OEM carbon leather but with a small touch of alcantara on the curving part of the trim, I think it would look great!

I've got a set of aluminum trim that has been professionally painted piano black if you are interested in them. It's real nice, but I'm not brave enough nor do I have the time to install them in my car. You can use them and then cover your trim in leather.

I'm asking $550

Checkout Ebay, I've sourced quite a few of these interior trim pieces there. I've found the headlight surround for $25, the dash piece for $100, and the console for like $125. The console is the hardest piece to find by far.

These were all aluminum trim btw.
