Z4M wheel fittment
I am looking to use some M3 wheels on my Z4 M coupe for the winter but I have been having trouble finding out some information on the rims to verify their fittment..
The rims I am considering buying are used and are the ones listed on this link. Could anyone please post information on these wheels, size, bolt, width, etc.. LINK> http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/hl/04330xi.htm Thanks |

If you're buying wheels design specifically for the E46 M3 then they'll fit. However, the wheel in the link you provided were for a regular E46 3 series. While TECHNICALLY they fit, the offset is incorrect and if I'm not mistaken, the rear wheels will be tucked in further by ~17mm. Not an ideal situation. Also, if those wheels already comes with tires they'll likely be the wrong aspect ratio as well for the MZ4.
You will need to run the right aspect ratio, which should be 225/50/17 or 245/45/17 winter tires. Ideally you will also need a 15mm spacer to bring the offset into compliance with an MZ4 offset. The rear offset on those rims, if they're not designed to be used by the M3, will be ~17mm too small. The MZ4 rear offset for a 9" wide rim in the rear is -30mm, while typical E46 none-M rear offset on a 8.5"-9" wide rim is -44 to -47mm. E46 M3 rear offset on 9" wide rim is 26mm so you're close enough there. |

Using the M3 fitment is good on the M Coupe - if anything you can go slightly wider on the rear of the Mcoupe then the M3's so some people may want to take advantage of that by putting even wider rear tires.

If the MZ4 can run e46 fitment then why does it seem we have fewer options for Z4m than for M3?
I'm looking to buy some wheels as well. The question I have is whether there is any substance to this... If I take some 19x10 rear iForged or SSR's off an M3 will it work on my car? |
