Ah, c'mon, go ahead and hack off another bit from the Remus cans. After one surgery what's one more?

All kidding aside, the DKF hangers make it a lot easier to get a really spot-on fit, which is something the OEM hangers do not provide. But if you have the Remus cans well lined up, yeah, it's probably overkill given their more reserved nature vs. Diablos.

guys just wondering, the new dkf bracket now lines up with the stock hanger, why does this require me to shave off the nut?? wondering about re-sale on my cans would prefur not to mod them.

Bummer if the threads are different that those used in the stock bolts. I guess if you ever sell the cans, you could just sell them with the DKF brackets.

Anyone got these with a set of SS Race/Sport? Do they bolt on with no modifications? Any improvement in interior vibration?

I'd be interested in a set once the initial teething problems are sorted out.

Keep up the good work DKF.

Most mufflers have a bracket where the bolt slides thru the bracket hole. You tighten a nut on each side of the bolt, thereby securing the bracket to the hanger. If you look at the Remus (and apparently the RPI) bracket, there is a nut welded to the bracket. This would work fine with the DKF Isolator (that little rubber bushing with a bolt sticking out of both sides) but once you start to insert the isolator bolt into the welded nut on the muffler bracket, there is no way to torque it enough to completely secure it into the nut. In other words it won't hold. Pretty wordy explanation, but I hope it helps. Here is a pic of a Remus bracket (up close) and a Diablo bracket so you can see the difference:

Well you are right, but I have a nearly perfect alignment with the Remus now using stock hangers and the sound is so tame that I don't get the vibration I did with the Diablos.

In your opinion, is the "tame" Remus worth the upgrade over stock?

Barely...a little deeper and slightly louder than stock. I know, it's sad, but it keeps the wife happy. The smell of the newness burning out of 'em was almost too much to take.

I'm hoping they will get a little louder as they get broken in. I've already noticed a slight increase in volume.

They look awesome though...perfect alignment, nice and shiny and no "dog balls". They hang down way less than stock and even more than the Diablos.

Now installation is another story...good god, what a mess. See this link if you want the whole story...

Results

I'm interested to hear any update on these following installation. Has anyone had good success in reducing the drone produced by exhaust such at the RE Diablos? Please share any input if you can. Thanks, Tom.

Hey guys for some reason I thought I wrote up a response to my experience with the Exhaust Hangers.
Apologies as I have been extremely busy with so many projects and now with the addidtion of my Estoril Blue 97 M3 coupe I have no time for me :-)

Anyways, Install was fairly straight foward on this setup but I did however have to order a second set of rubber bolt thingys because my passenger side was over torqued by mistake. (not by me) I noticed the difference in the mid to high range since Im running RPI exahusts and the low end vibration will over come just about anything. The biggest take away HAS TO BE the alignment, because the tips are aligned perfectly. Im currently in talks with DKF Performance for testing out these bits on the e36 m3 as they use identical part numbers for the stock exhaust hangers. Feel Free to shoot me any questions.

Ahh so much to do so little time:

Carbon Fiber Doors need to be shipped, E36 M3 needs full Mod Treatment, buying an
S1000rr for the summer.....tooo much, headache :-)
