I would of rolled the windows down with the key fob and pushed it out. Hind sight is 20/20 hopefully they do not see the video and put all the blame on you.

I actually tried that first - was hoping to climb through the window. The windows didn't roll down which was why I had to open the doors I think the coding must have been removed by the prior owner.

Sorry for your loss, it's hard to even look at the pictures. When they were calling for the 5+ inches, it was definitely the day to drive my beater 4runner. Is this your only car? BTW, not that this helps now, but you can put the key in the door lock, unlock the car, hold the key in the unlock position and then the windows will roll down.

I barely made it home that day since only one of the four roads to my house was passable due to rising creek levels. After I got home, I was land locked, as I heard the road I just came down was under water.

Not that it's much consolation, but there are some very nice well maintained low mileage cars FS in the NE in the FS section. If you can get insurance to move on this, you might be able to replace her with a very nice car.

I'm guessing he has comprehensive coverage, and if so, he should be ok.

I know I am late in saying this, but I am VERY sorry for your loss. I get it -- you work hard to keep your things nice, the last thing you want to do is lose them in a flood. I would have done the same thing, with tears running down my face

If I were you, I would push to get the car totaled. Water is nasty with electronics, not to mention the stench of the river water. Such a damn shame.

Just curious- there were very few cars still in that lot. Were there others that moved their cars before the water came in? Did they not put a page out telling everyone to get their cars out of the parking lot when the flooding was first noted? Maybe it came in so fast there was no time to react? That situation completely sucks. Glad you got a cool replacement!

As an update for this waterlogged M Coupe, I recently bought it from a insurance auction in Baltimore.
It is now all dried out and living in Tucson, AZ.

What did you have to replace to get it working again? I would think lots of computer modules.

Would you mind telling us what you paid?

It certainly is good to hear that this little beastie has found new life and a new home with an appreciative owner.

I probably shouldn't "kiss and tell", but I ended up winning it in the insurance auction for $7600.

Wow! At that price you could pay for a lot of repairs (which I hope you never need) and still have paid a fair dollar for the car.

Just curious what a car like that would go for. I always find it interesting when folks won't say what the paid for something. What is secret about it anyway?

Good luck getting it sorted.
