ESS VT2 500 IND Install

Just want to let the forum know how smooth the install went at IND in Paletine IL.
Left off a mint 2006 M roadster on Tues and picked up a still mint roadster with a hole lot more giddy-up on Friday. Drove it home to Minnesota without getting a speeding ticket.
Worth every penny.

how much did you end up paying for the kit? you can PM me if private. Looks great. Whats your impression of the power compared to other fast cars you've driven?

wahhhooooo another vt2 in the fold.....

OP please please please get yourself a decent gauge setup, you'll really need to monitor your engine @ this power level :-)

Dont suppose IND did a boost check for you did they??? im seeing 7.8ish @ redline with lovely AFR readings, the car runs great.

Is really good to see these kits being purchased more, soon we'll have our own section Boost ///Ms. i just wish i wasnt the only one here in the UK :-( i have to say with our cold conditions, the car really feels quick :-) first trackday next month with the vt2 kit on :-)can't wait :-)

I am extremely interested in your feedback regarding their work and the performance of the VT2 after a week or so of driving. I have been in a constant debate with myself about getting this done but I didn't know that there was a shop so close that could handle it.

What other work have you done to your M?

Did not put in gauge set in at this time as I had no plans to track it. I had a Viper that was basically my summer daily driver. Needed a change. Love the roadster....just missed the horses so did the ESS kit. The guys at IND said if I stay somewhere near speed limit probably can do OK without the gauges......but maybe next trip to Chicago, I will do that. Need to gently expose the wife to all the potential add ons to this car. I did not specifically ask what boost......all I know is when I stomp on the peddle it goes like the Viper, not the car I owned last week.

My M was bone stock. 4,000 miles on it at time of install. IND also did the CDV replacement. So far, all good with IND. Ilia is the main person I dealt with. The car was very mint at only 4K miles.....and that is how the car stayed thru the install. They had all the old parts boxed up for me. He kept me updated daily. Three day install. No gauges at this time. IND had some very nice beemers at their site.

IND are one of the best simple as that :-)

fair enough on the gauges, i do use my car at the track and definatly need to monitor whats happening, but keep it minty fresh like you, take a look a couple of threads down @ (detailed Vt2 pics) to see my car and loonngg list of mods, i brought my car brand new back in 07, ive now done only 10,600 miles of summer, dry use only.

I agree re the performance, insane is not the word, even cooler is the under bonnet view, just wait till you do around 200 miles, do afew redline runs within this time, not many just a couple, the ecu will adapt and you'll see full power........

you may need to uprate your braking system :-) lol well done and lovely car, shame its never going to see the track :-)

Here's my previous car I REALLY miss the torque, thats why I'm always reading up on the kit. I don't think ESS stage 1 would be quick enough

My Viper was also a GTS. Would have loved to keep that and own the roadster as well, but the divorce would have been just too expensive. There is that YouTube video of M Roadster vs Viper....basically a dead heat at the finish line. Would like to see a supercharged roadster vs the Viper. I took the car out onto the old viper country roads and the M seemed as fast.......just about 3000 RPMs higher than the big V10 ever did.

the video of the Top Gear race was close because the Viper understeered wildly for no reason at all. Does the car now have the similar punch to the GTS? I know its way down on torque... even on the stage 2 kit

I am not a good enough driver to test the limits of these cars. I use to lose control on the Viper which had no traction control and I ran stock tires......so I seldom tried to see what I could do in a quarter mile. Doubt that the M can match 0-100 mph of the Viper......but 30-100 was a whole lot different than before the SC install.

Nate, Thanks for the pics. That looks COOL! Friend of mine has a viper, and a couple more folks with them come out now and then to our Saturday evening car meets. They are some fun cars to drive.

The Z4 looks great!

I am afraid the detail of my review cannot match what you all have been posting, mainly because I have not dyno'd the car and I don't even have a boost gage.
I am up to 770 miles since install with no issues. The guys at IND basically convinced me that this should be a install it and forget it kit.....and so far, it has been. It certainly is a totally different car than stock....and while not cheap, I feel it was worth the money. I like taking it out on cool evenings burn up some rubber.....what I use to do with my Viper. This car can't match 1st gear in the Viper, but it pulls great in 2nd and third. I think you all have convinced me to install a nice gauge cluster to moniter for problems. I have talked with the guys from IND to add headers and and probably Eisemann cans......would like just a little more low end torque and a deeper tone. Still think that overall cost of the car and kit is a deal for the performance and quality drive you get.

awesome........ some info on low speed drive, top end smoothness, idle smoothness, do you use all the revs reguarly, how do you find traction??

its always nice to get someone else views..... im glad youve had a trouble free install :-) your experience pretty much echo's mine.

For my style of driving....weekends and evenings out on dry winding country roads.....the main difference post-SC is how fast I get to from 30 mph to 80mph and then back down to 30 for the next turn. I basically never dump the clutch and I race no one. I leave more rubber in second gear than I do in first.
Basically, to me it is the same car with about a 100 more hp of pull. I plan to put headers on it and Eisenmanns sport cans...and that probably will be it other than gauges. Plan to keep it until dead and leave in the will to my son. He was pissed I sold the Viper, but he just doesn't realize how much nicer the drive along the river is in this roadster.
