the "z4 as a first car?" thread got me thinking about my first cars and the cars leading to my IR Z4MC. what cars have you owned over the years that eventually lead to your Z4? my list is:

1969 MGB (1982-present)
1979 Honda Civic (1982-1984)
1979 Mercury Capri (1984-1985)
1984 Ford Ranger (1984-1988)
1988 Honda CRX (1988-1997)
1993 Ducati 750 SS (1993-1996)
1997 Chev Blazer (1997-2006)
2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser (2007)
2007 BMW Z4MC (2007-present)

1972 Datsun 1200 (1977-1978) - bone stock until it rotted out
1970 Datsun 240Z (1980-1989) - ASP Autox car / ill advised daily driver
1986 Toyota 4Runner (1989-present) - 350K and going strong
1991 Toyota MR2 (1997-2008) - Suspension mods only, still running OK at 253K when sold
2007 Z4 Coupe (2008 - ???)

1991 Chevy S10 - 1991 to 1994 - first job, first new car, learn to drive stick
1994 Trans Am - 1994 to 2001 - Pontiac finally did it right, V8 & 6-spd
2001 Trans Am WS6 - 2001 to present - the car I always wanted
2004 Honda Civic Si - 2004 to present - so I could stop putting commuter miles on the car I always wanted
2007 Z4 M Coupe - since October '07 - car collection officially starts with the 2nd car

01 Honda Accord V6
03 Mercedes C240, parents bought it for me, I wasn't crazy about it, my dad loves it.
00 BMW 328 I bought this car with my money, sold it to get the Z4, I miss it dearly.
04 BMW Z4, I'm going broke trying to pay for this, but it is such a nice car to just sit back and relax. I'm basically in the red every month now, I might have to sell it

Next car, probably, another E46, or if I can find an awesome deal on a E90 325 or 330.
