s54 in Z is starting to chatter at 50k wtf?
This morning I heard chattering from the valve cover area.....does this mean my engine is about to go or is this just a vanos problem?

It usually means you need the valves adjusted (shimmed)
It's normal wear & tear on the S54.

If it wasn't LOW (I assume you looked at the dip stick) why oh why would you over fill it. You do know that overfilled oil will damage it! There is a TSB on this.

Did you wipe off the dipstick first? Don't overfill an engine, especially the S54...
