Show Me Your Custom Shift Boots
Ever since I retrimmed my steering wheel, I’ve been slowly trying to spruce up the rest of the interior… mostly minor things along lines of replacing any worn soft touch plastic trim. But I’m curious if anyone’s changed to a custom shift boot. Nicest one I’ve seen so far is:
https://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130548 ^ I like that a lot but might go for something more subtle, perhaps alcantara or black leather with tri-stitch. Last edited by 3002 tii; 09-06-2023 at 09:54 PM.. |

Check out this guy.
https://www.redlinegoods.com/LeatherShiftBoot.php Quality piece. Boot has integral tabs that hook around the connection tabs on the trim part to hold boot in place. I actually received 2 due to FedEx "losing" 1, but did show up eventually. Black with black stitch. So if interested LMK.

Not very custom, but I installed a F10 M5 shift boot/weighted, lighted shift knob in mine. The leather is much thicker and softer than the stock leather and the extra weight/shorter height of the knob improved shifting, win win.

When I bought my Z4MC it came with a LeatherZ Alcantara shift boot and an aftermarket shift knob. The boot was good quality, but I wanted a more OEM look so I went with a F10 M5 shift knob and boot like Pungo. I’m still very happy with the F10 parts.

Lighted?
Wait, what? The F10 shift knob is weighted AND LIGHTED?
The lack of lighting (as described anywhere I’ve seen it offered) is what put me off. Where did you get it? Quote:

Yep I remember when the ZHP knob was only $50, nowadays the bootleg made in China ones are closer to $50 and the real ones do for $100!
